The Brief
A Bacteriology team within the University of Glasgow contacted us about a bespoke fixture to hold infected knee implants for scanning and analysis.
Our Solution
We designed a bespoke jig to grip the complex curvature of the implant with minimal contact area. The design was optimised to enable maximum scanning surface area.
The Impact
We handed over a 3D printable fixture which interfaced with the in-house scanning technology within the UofG team. This enabled detailed scanning of microbial presence on infected human implants.
